At Laidon, sustainable business means making responsible decisions about how we operate, how we treat people, how we develop technology, and how we work with customers, suppliers, and business partners.
As the company behind SimpleMDG, Laidon integrates environmental, social, and governance considerations into our operations and business relationships. Our approach reflects the nature of our software and Software-as-a-Service business, our global operations, our geographical presence, and our ability to influence the environmental and social impacts connected with our activities.
We focus on the ESG matters most relevant to our business: environmental responsibility, labor and human rights, diversity and inclusion, employee wellbeing, ethical business conduct, responsible technology, and sustainable procurement.
Laidon is committed to understanding and reducing the environmental impacts of our office-based, hybrid, and remote-working model. Our principal impacts include energy and resource consumption, business travel, employee commuting, technology use, purchased goods and services, and the acquisition and disposal of information-technology equipment.
We are progressively developing the environmental data, baselines, and methodologies needed to better understand our greenhouse-gas emissions, including relevant Scope 1, Scope 2, and material Scope 3 emissions. Environmental objectives will be established once reliable baselines, measurement methods, responsibilities, and supporting evidence are available, and we make environmental claims only where they are appropriately scoped and supported by sufficient evidence.
Laidon is committed to respecting internationally recognized human rights and maintaining lawful, fair, safe, and respectful working conditions. We prohibit forced labor, compulsory labor, human trafficking, slavery, debt bondage, unlawful child labor, and other forms of exploitation. Employment must be voluntary, and applicable employment terms and conditions are communicated appropriately.
We seek to comply with applicable requirements concerning wages, benefits, working hours, leave, rest periods, employment records, freedom of association, employee representation, and collective bargaining. Our human-rights approach is risk-based, considering factors such as operating locations, employment arrangements, potentially vulnerable groups, supplier and subcontractor activities, geographical exposure, and our ability to influence the relevant activity. Where an actual or potential adverse human-rights impact is identified, we assess the issue and take reasonable steps to prevent, mitigate, or remediate it.
We are committed to equal employment opportunity and to providing an inclusive workplace where individuals are treated fairly, professionally, and respectfully. Laidon does not tolerate unlawful discrimination, bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, victimization, or retaliation. Employment decisions concerning recruitment, compensation, development, performance, and promotion are based on legitimate business and role-related considerations, and reasonable workplace accommodations are considered in accordance with applicable law and operational requirements.
We aim to develop meaningful and measurable diversity, equity, inclusion, and equal-opportunity objectives once lawful data, appropriate baselines, reliable methodologies, and clear accountability have been established.
Laidon maintains health and safety arrangements appropriate to our office-based, hybrid, and remote-working environment, considering workplace and remote-working risks, ergonomics, emergency arrangements, hazard and incident reporting, employee wellbeing, and relevant psychosocial risks. We also support employee competence and professional development through onboarding, role-based training, performance feedback, development planning, and access to relevant professional and technical learning opportunities. Employees are encouraged to report workplace hazards, injuries, wellbeing concerns, and other safety issues so they can be appropriately assessed and addressed.
Laidon is committed to conducting business honestly, fairly, and transparently, and in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements. We prohibit bribery, corruption, kickbacks, facilitation payments, fraud, embezzlement, and other improper business practices. Actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest must be disclosed and appropriately managed, and gifts, hospitality, charitable contributions, sponsorships, and other benefits must not be used to improperly influence business decisions.
We maintain expectations concerning accurate business records, fair competition, confidentiality, privacy, information security, intellectual property, and the responsible use of company and customer information. Concerns may be raised through Laidon's established reporting channels, and we do not tolerate retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith or cooperate with an assessment or investigation.
As a software and SaaS company, responsible technology is central to our ESG commitment. SimpleMDG is hosted on SAP Business Technology Platform, with underlying infrastructure operated by relevant third-party service providers. We manage associated risks through responsible technology decisions, supplier due diligence, contractual controls, information-security and privacy safeguards, risk assessment, and ongoing oversight.
AI systems and AI-enabled tools must be developed, procured, and used in accordance with Laidon's AI governance, privacy, security, and responsible-use requirements. We seek to ensure that technology supports our customers and employees without compromising ethical conduct, confidentiality, privacy, security, or applicable legal obligations.
We incorporate proportionate environmental, social, ethical, human-rights, privacy, information-security, and operational considerations into the selection and oversight of relevant suppliers, subcontractors, implementation partners, and other business relationships. Our supplier due diligence is risk-based and considers factors such as the nature of the relationship, service criticality, geography, and the data or systems involved.
Higher-risk suppliers may be subject to additional assessment, contractual requirements, monitoring, and remediation. Where a material concern cannot be appropriately resolved, Laidon may restrict, suspend, or terminate the relevant business relationship.
Laidon identifies, assesses, manages, and reviews material ESG risks and opportunities through a documented, risk-based approach. Our ESG priorities and objectives consider applicable legal, regulatory, contractual, and customer requirements; the environmental and social impacts of our operations; employee and stakeholder interests; supplier and business-partner risks; technology, privacy, information-security, data, and AI-related impacts; and the availability and quality of supporting information.
We review our ESG risks, objectives, performance, and improvement activities periodically and following significant changes to our operations or business environment. Sustainable development is an ongoing process: our commitment is to make proportionate, evidence-based improvements, communicate responsibly, and remain accountable for the environmental, social, and governance impacts that we can reasonably manage or influence.
